Dirt Road Memories
Big Red loaded
Four-wheelers fueled and secured on the trailer
Anxiously awaiting our arrival at Windrock
Immediately once on the mountain, there’s a wonderful feeling
Letting go,
No worries,
A healing, therapeutic mountain
Miles of dirt roads winding
Waterfalls flowing,
Senior pictures imitated,
Beaver dams; adventures untold
Coal Trucks roaming along the trails
Visiting an abandoned Army base from the Cold War,
A Country Store with “I love Jesus” signs made of foam and
yard sale sticker price tags
Campfire popping
Magic boots dancing, telling a story all their own
Magic boots stolen from the giant on the mountain
Laughing from stories only told around the campfire
Stories told about one another
Stories told at the expense of a local car dealer and “channel news 36”
Lifelong friends
New traditions being made
Relationships healed
Near death experiences
Crosses immortalizing those who will never return
We’ve been allowed to return once again
Night Rides
Windmills along the ridge
Moonlight illuminating the city life below
Sleeping in a tent under the stars
Waking up to the cool, fresh mountain air
Waking up to motors revving, ready for a new day, a new ride
Windrock
Our Paradise
